This Experience Guide offers all the information you need to get started with Step it Up Scotland, as well as tips on how to get the most out of the app. Step it Up is part of Living it Up, a self-management digital service designed to help you get more out of life, stay happier, healthier and safer.

Free for iPhone, it was designed for people with a need for smart, simple health and activity tracking technology.

Search the store for 'Step it Up Scotland', compare the logo and ensure the developer is NHS 24.

Make sure you have set up a Living it Up login account

If you haven’t already joined Living it Up, set up an account by inputting your email address and creating a password. We recommend you use a desktop or tablet device.

Launch the app

When you launch the app, it will ask for permission to count your steps using the sensors in your phone.

Explore the app

Step it Up Scotland uses basic navigation. Swipe the screen and tap on icons to change the view.

Browse the current list of challenges

Have a look at how you can store your steps count in the Step Book. If you want to use images then you will be asked for further permissions.

Submitting steps to a Community Challenge

When you are ready to submit steps to a Community Challenge, you will be asked to sign in with your Living it Up account. The screens will explain what is happening and why.
